Privacy
You can read every page of this site without giving any personal details. There are no visitor accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. As with most websites, the hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard request logs, including your network address, for a limited time. Beyond that, the only personal details the site collects are the ones you enter to book a guest lecture, described below.
Booking a guest lecture
The booking form asks for your name, your email address, the topic you would like to speak on, whether you would prefer to meet in person or remotely, and the booking code the host gave you. If the host sent you a personal booking link instead, there is no code, and the booking is made under the email address the host sent the link to. You can also add a short bio or link for your introduction, any AV needs, and up to two guests' email addresses. If the host books a lecture for you, they enter the same details.
- Your email address receives the calendar invite. It is added as an attendee on the event in the host's Google Calendar, so Google handles it too.
- Emails about your booking — a confirmation, a note if it is rescheduled or cancelled, and reminders about three weeks and one week before — are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. The host gets a copy of the confirmation and of any change. They carry your name, email address, topic, and the time of your lecture.
- Guests' email addresses receive the calendar invite, as attendees on the same event, and its updates if you reschedule or cancel.
- The topic you enter becomes part of the calendar event's title and description, so it is visible to anyone the host has shared their calendar with.
- Your browser's time zone is used to show times in your own zone. It never leaves your browser.
- Your mailing and contact details are optional. If you add them after booking — a phone number, a mailing address, and an assistant's contact details — they are used only to send you a thank-you and to reach you about your lecture. Only the host can see them, and they are kept for future visits until you ask for them to be removed.
- Your network address is recorded by the booking page only if you enter the booking code incorrectly, so that guessing at it can be slowed down. Those records are deleted within 24 hours.
- Bookings are kept, including after you cancel — cancelling removes the calendar event, not the record of it.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is passed to anyone beyond Vercel, which hosts the site, Google, which provides the calendar and sends the invite, and Resend, which delivers the site's emails. To ask about your details or have them removed, contact the host at miwyatt@deloitte.com.
